From Beyond Production, the new project of dialogue between Artissima and Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT, here comes Surfing NFT: a new vantage point on the contemporary concept of NFTs, and its relationship with the art market, artists and galleries.
3 are the strengths of the project: focus on artistic quality of the work rather than market value; involvement of galleries as mediators; accent on eco-sustainability, thanks to a platform developed by Artshell that selects a sustainable blockchain model in terms of energy savings: Polygon
sustainability as a key
Why Polygon?
Because we think we need to be SUSTAINABLE NOW and not tomorrow!
To be sustainable right now, without waiting for Ethereum, the most widespread blockchain platform, to stop being a Proof of Work (POW) system – continuing to consume the same quantity of energy (and resources) as an average-sized nation – and switches to a Proof of Stake (POS) system.
Polygon is the POS technology blockchain with the highest performance, consuming 0.1% of the energy required by Ethereum and other POW blockchains.

Thanks to the support of Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT, Artissima has offered five artists and their respective galleries the possibility of producing a digital work registered as a blockchain NFT, and of presenting the work on this special platform. One of the five works will be selected as the winner of the OGR Award by an international jury.
Award: the prize ceremony
On 9 March 2022 at OGR Torino – the centre of cultural experimentation and production that is one of the most dynamic of its kind on a European level – the works will be presented to the public and the winning artist will be announced in the fourth edition of the OGR Award. The work will be acquired by Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT to add to its Collection.
